Hawaii Interisland Fares Corrected for Inflation
Understanding this chart...
Each year has two dots, a red and a blue dot. The red dots show the air fare
during that year, and the blue dot shows that fare corrected for inflation to
2006 dollars. The blue dots and their associated blue lines indicate the relative
affordability of air travel. Thus, in 1929 a ticket to Maui cost $20, but that
$20 was the equivalent of spending $240 on the ticket during the year 2006.
